CHOOPPI (The Knife)

Every now and then, our Khukuri House craftsmen step away from the traditional kukri shape and put their hands to something a little different. This time, it’s a compact straight knife — well, not entirely straight. From the very first line where the handle meets the blade, there’s a subtle forward bend that gives it that extra bite in a chop, much like our beloved kukris. It’s our way of blending the feel of a kukri with the convenience of a smaller knife.

The 6-inch blade is solid and purposeful, cut from 6mm-thick high carbon steel, with a 3.5cm cutting belly that makes slicing and chopping a pleasure. At 330 grams, it has just the right weight to feel secure in hand without tiring you out. The 4.5-inch handle is shaped with finger grooves for comfort, capped with a small guard for safety, making it a natural fit for your grip.

Finished with a handsome leather scabbard, this knife doesn’t just work well — it looks the part too. It’s a fresh design from us, proof that even after years of crafting kukris, we still enjoy exploring new ideas and bringing something different to your collection. 

This new product is known as CHOOPPI which means Sharp Pointed Straight Knife in Nepali.
